LOUISE MASCOLO, 2022 RECIPIENT OF THE “GEORGE RETEK” TROPHY

The George Retek Trophy is awarded annually by District 1* to a bridge player who has made a significant volunteer contribution to the District and its units.

In 2022, the honor goes to Louise Mascolo.

Her involvement with the Montreal Bridge League has been most significant. From 2012 to 2018, she took on various roles, including those of webmaster, tournament material manager (business manager) and tournament director. She has also contributed to the realization of various projects relating to the promotion of bridge.

A tireless worker for District 1, Louise had, for many years, full responsibility for events related to the NAP (National American Pairs). She stood out by making every effort to promote this event and ensure that the District was represented by the players who qualified for the national finals. During all these years she also collaborated with Kathie Macnab to ensure the success of the GNT (Grand National Teams).

Louise is currently the webmaster for the District. She has greatly contributed to the improvement of the site and ensures that it is regularly updated. In addition, she assumes the French translation of all documents issued by the District.

Louise has also been the webmaster for the Canadian Bridge Federation since 2017.

Congratulations Louise and thank you for having so generously shared your passion.
