Sam Gold, of Montreal (1908 – 1982), was an important person for the bridge community in Montréal.

He was instrumental in the creation of the Montreal Bridge League in 1946, he was a top player, a mentor to many, a recognized administrator, and inventor of bridge movements in use today .

Thanks to Mr. Gold, the Montreal Bridge League celebrates 70 years of existence.
